    VihtaVuori N555 powder

N555=2725fps in my Savage 110Precision. H4350 was coming in just under 2700fps.

    VihtaVuori N555 powder

A tad late (just saw your post) but I have some input here. I dropped H4350 like a got rock after discovering N555 for my 6.5 CM long range rig. Love this stuff. Had a lot of 3-and-one's with H4350 (3 in one hole, 1 to the right). The Vit shoots one hole. I'm hooked. Have started using it for...

    H4350 substitute

Dropped H4350 for Vit N555 for 6.5 CM and never looked back.

Is there a 6.5 cartridge that runs N570 well?

6.5 Swede and 6.5-284 Norma loads are listed on Vit's website. Good place to start.

    Caliber choice for prairie dogs

I don't see how one can go wrong with a .223 containing a nicely tuned load in 68gr BTHP.

Anyone try staball 6.5 in a .270 win yet?

I just started working on a .270 load with StaBALL. So far, so good... Ruger American bone-stock rifle. 140gr SST, CCI200, Win brass. Ran a Satterlee from 54.0gr to 56.0gr in .2 gr increments. Zero pressure signs, will likely try to get my magic 3100fps out of it. Best nodes were: 2951, 2950 &...

    Savage 110 Reliable? Weaknesses?

Reliable? Certainly. Weaknesses? None you're likely to experience as a hunter/casual target shooter. I've owned about 10 throughout the years (10's, 110's, 111's) and currently have 3. .243, 7mmRM and a 6.5 CM in the 110 Precision. (So ugly...) I've never had one that failed to shoot WELL under...

Help with 7mm Rem load data.

I run R22 and R25 behind 162gr ELDX and have had exceptional accuracy from 100 ft to 5250 feet of elevation in temps ranging from 30 degrees to 85 degrees. Basic Federal brass prep. Savage 111 Hunter rifle. PM for more detailed load info but they're nothing special.

I either screwed up or made the best decision ever

I'm going to hand her a Kestrel and my ballistic app. Don't want to make it easy but don't want her throwing $50 down the barrel trying to figure it out!

My wife spends near zero on that stuff, not like I would care of she did, she's just not into it. She can sqeeze a penny 'til Lincoln cries. I doubt she'll go hog-wild on shooting gear either. I'll just buy it and out her name on the gift tag.

+1 on the custom. My rifle was a terrible fit for her, obviously.

Agreed. She asked about PRS later that day...looks like Mama is getting a rifle.

That's the most surprising part. She was standing on an ammo can with rifle supported on a bag on the hood of my truck. I was hunkered down just to get a good picture of the target. I just told her to get comfortable first, then find the target, then send it.

Way ahead of you, brother!! 😆😆
