I own both, Gamin all the way! Can test for accuracy the same time as testing velocity. Does what the LabRadar does, but cheaper, and way more compact.

For hunting, I do not like using chassis rifles for several reasons, hence- I bought myself, and both my boys Raven-Euro Carbon fiber rifles. They currently only make stocks for Tikka’s, and Blaser rifles, but are designing a Remington stock now.

Had a 280 Rem for years, and still load for a buddy of mine. H4831 was our go-to, but found more velocity using H4350. I can look when I get home on how much powder we were using, but you’d be best to do you own work up anyways.

IMO 7mm08 all the way. Feed it a mono bullet for better penetration and keep shots closer. Have 4 kids and the 7mm08 has served us well, plenty terminal performance, and milder recoil. Also tried the 6.5 CM with the kids, but IMO it didn’t kill nearly as well as the 7mm

Hi, Had this exact rifle, and after shooting the barrel out, it got turned into a .280 Ackley. When it was a .280 Rem, I was using H4831 with 168gr VLD’s. If I remember correctly it was 51.7gr. I’m now loading for my friend who shoots that exact rifle, and we found we get more than 100 fps...

The LRX will most likely get you the most consistent penetration. Listen to Joseph Von Benedikt’s podcast on elk bullets. He speaks specifically about the limitations of the 6.5, and the bullets you should use with it when hunting elk.

List looks pretty good, you have any need for an inreach? How about GPS and a small paper map? A note on carhart - That is all I wear day to day, but if you get them wet- they take forever and a day to dry…..
