I wanted to give everyone an update after my elk hunt! Decided a 16 inch 308 wasn’t good enough and bought a 300 wsm. Still used a suppressor during the hunt on a browning x bolt hells canyon! One shot and the bull was dead on his feet! Before falling I did put another round in him but wasn’t...
Thank you! I feel lucky and blessed no doubt! I was using a browning x bolt hells canyon in 300 wsm. Bullet selection was a 180 grain nosler accubond. Final shooting distance was 224 yards. 1 shot and he stood still. While I was shooting the second shot he was falling.
Well guys just wanted to give an update on Milligan brand outfitter. Out of 11 guys 9 killed, 1 wounded a bull which counts as a kill “gut shot”, and one wasn’t able to shoot one “had physical limitations”. I had an amazing week and was never pressured to shoot anything I didn’t want too...

Thank you! The 308 is my choosing, however I've debated buying a 300wsm with a shooter barrel (suppressed) and using it for the hunt. I just like the idea of a one gun for all my adventures.
Hey guys, I'm looking at getting a Sig Cross in a 308. The Cross is a 16inch barrel and I will have it suppressed. With the shorter barrel length, I'm debating what factory ammo would be best out of that shorter inch barrel for elk. This will be my first Elk hunt and the outfitter is advising...
