Make it easy, get a 6.5 PRC. Lapua brass is available lots of bullet and factory ammo choices. It's by far the best supported short mag out there.

Basing the popularity, success or future longevity of relatively new rifle cartridges by ammo sales seems pretty disingenuous. Most people don't buy rifle ammo in bulk unless it's .223 or 7.62x39. If it was a design flaw than every rifle chambered would have the same problem but that's not the case.

It's not a design flaw, it's from smiths using reamers that are worn out, creating chambers that are under-sized.

I always thought the Lazzeroni cartridges were based on the 416 Rigby case, ie. .580 rim and base diameters. That's interesting that some of them were .530 cases, I had no idea. I would still argue that the "first" was Charles Newton but it goes to show that almost nothing is ever "new."

I agree with everyone above, I would get a good scope first and shoot the 7mm. It will do everything you will need a long range rig to do. If and when you decide to upgrade look at the Seekins PH2. It's less money than a Fierce, way better quality than a Christensen.
