    6mm Remington

I wouldn't worry about the tips. I shot a Remington 742 for years with ballistic tips and never had a issue. If you are concerned try to find the 85 gr TSX. None of my 6mm Remington's are semi's but the TTSX should be fine. Also Hodgdon reloading manual online has data for the 80 gr. TTSX and...

    Brown bear Rifle

If you are comfortable with your 300 WM i would take it. I dont own a 300 WM so I would probably take my 8mm Rem mag as I am very comfortable with it. If you wanted to take me with you I will let you use my 416 Rigby though. :)

    How far can you connect?

My longest has been 600yds on 2 Antelope (25 WSSM). I have gotten a elk at 525yds (8mm Rem Mag). Deer I don't remember other than 190yds with my open sighted muzzleloader (I have been muzzleloading for deer for the last 8 or 10 years). All have been factory guns.

What rifles have fancy wood stocks?

Actually I believe it is 1973 or 1974 I have to call browning to find out as the serial doesn't follow Browning's regular convention.

What rifles have fancy wood stocks?

There is also some of the old Kimbers. This is Kimber of Oregon 223 Rem that I had.

What rifles have fancy wood stocks?

I just bought a Browning 78 in 6mm Rem that was pretty good looking wood from a neighbor.

    Newbie pronghorn hunter

I know some guns just don't like Barnes bullets. I have been pretty luck in that mine so far have liked them. When my dad had his 340 Roy it hated the Barnes bullets. He now shoots a 300 Win mag with 180gr AB's. I have shot a lot of Antelope, deer, and elk with Barnes and have had great success...

    Newbie pronghorn hunter

I will say that I don't think caliber as much as bullet will have a bigger effect on meat and hide damage. I have a friend that used a 340 Weatherby on antelope and had no issue but he was using a bullet that didn't blow up either. Personally I have used almost exclusively Barnes "X" bullets (X...

Like most everyone else said all would.work great and take which ever one you are most comfortable with. I have shot them with 223 Rem, 6mm Rem, 25 WSSM, 270 Win, 270 WSM, and 7 STW Improved from 50 yards to 600. I usually always take my 25 WSSM with 100gr TTSX and one other rifle. Most of the...

Lee will make a custom collet die for your 250 Savage. I had one made for a 7STW imp.

    Antelope bullet

I have killed many antelope with a 6mm Rem and 85gr. Barnes TSX without any issues. I even got one at 350 yds. with a 223 Rem and a 62gr. Barnes TSX.

.270 win recipe for hunting elk

I haven't shot my 270Win for elk in a while (since I got my 8mm Rem mag) but I killed elk with Barnes 140 TSX and AA3100. Not sure if AA3100 is still around so I might need to breakout the 270 and work up some new loads myself. I always felt the 140gr was a good bullet for my deer and elk.

I do a little bit of everything really. I shoot pistol matches, Hunt deer, elk, antelope, varmints, and birds some long range and some not so much (Muzzleloader deer). I also recreational target shoot.
