Whats the worse rifle or gun you ever bought ? I hsve several tied

Back in the 70’s I purchased a Weatherby .22 auto. The action would hang up on just about every shot. I never got any satisfaction from the company. Their reply was that they imported the .22 and they didn’t manufacture it. I returned it to the store & swapped it for a Ruger 10-22. I shot the...

    Mosquito Help Needed

Here in Mississippi Thermocel works great if you are stationary. Thermocel will not work while you are on the move. I have to get to my blind or hunting spot, fighting mosquitoes all the way. Then I set up my Thermocel & it works wonders.

    What do you think?

If you are mechanically inclined & like to tinker you could use a Lee Loadmaster, but be sure to buy one that is new & the latest model. Lee has made some improvements over the older ones you would probably get if you purchase a used one. I have 2 older models-one I leave set up for .223 & the...

    Barn find , looks homemade?

I agree that the box with the red bulb is probably a dark room timer. The other looks like a flashlight bulb checker to me. He could just touch the bulb to it without having to screw each one in.

    Shotgun reloading

There is no generic wad to use with every type hull or different loads. I’ve reloaded shotgun shells for 62 yrs. I learned early to make a measure out of a dowel rod to use in measuring the inside depth of each hull. I keep all hulls with the same depth, regardless of brand, in separate...

    What is it ?

He probably used it to drill set screw holes in die locking rings, judging from the size of the hole.

    beginner turkey hunter questions

I’m a long term turkey hunter (85yrs old) and never shot anything larger than #6 while using lead. HOWEVER, it’s a new ball game for turkey hunting since TUNGSTEN became available. TSS is the heaviest of metals which allows you to use a smaller size shot which means many more killing pellets...

    brass annealing machine

I have Annealeaz bought before Mike began making them. It does a good job but if I was buying one now I would buy Mike’s from mikesreloading.com. His does not cost very much More. I know Mike, who is a retired engineer, and he does a very good job of building his annealers and he chooses...

    .222 Remington

Back in the early 1960’s I shot a lot of groundhogs with a REM. bolt action .222. They were all long shots and if the wind was blowing very much it would blow the 50 grain HP Hornady off target. Rather than always trying to guess at the allowance for wind, I traded for a .243.

    Reloading/work bench ideas

If you can do your reloading inside the house then I would definitely set up a reloading bench inside. If it would make you feel better, you could store your lead bullets in the garage cabinets if you should ever have any for your pistols. I use only jacketed bullets and don't worry about it...

    Remington 700 trigger help

I have 2 older model 700's that I replaced safety lever on so I could operate the bolt without pushing safety off. If you are interested I will look and see if I kept them. If so I will be glad to give you one.

I’m gonna try to hunt Racoons!

You will be doing your wild turkey population a great favor as raccoons destroy turkey nests for the eggs as well as newly hatched turkeys. You will definitely want to hunt them at night or at least just before sunrise and just after sunset. You will probably enjoy trapping them so you won't...

    Dumb reloading question

When I did the same thing once, I just removed the depriming pin from the resizing die & resized the cases again. The primer is not touched & can be used.

Who crimps their bullets in the case?

I began hand loading 61 years ago with a "nut cracker tool" for my Rem. 30.06 auto. It was difficult to crimp back then and I was so glad when Lee came out with their factory crimping tool. I have been hand loading now for many years for the 10 different calipers I have from .223 to .300 Win...

15AMP vs 20AMP circuit for reloading room?

As a licensed electrician, I never run anything but size 12 wire for recipticals. As has been said, size 14 is only to be used for lighting. Be sure to wrap wire around receptical scews & never just push bare end of wire into holes! Plugging and unplugging will soon wear out those cheaper...
