Reloading for the new .277 Fury from Sig

I know with my new barrel, the bolt closes on a Go gauge, but not on a Go gauge with 0.003" of tape on it. If it ever starts closing on that, I assume I've had lug setback. Indirect but seems like it should work.

You could also use Go / No Go gauges and some tape shims, which is what I'm doing.

Reloading for the new .277 Fury from Sig

Like I said, you need to compare to your current print. If your chamber is bigger in any area than the 277 Fury chamber print, then no, you'd need to either set back your barrel or get a new one.

Yeah the necks are super thick after necking down, neck turning is required for 6.5 CM unless you get a custom reamer.

Reloading for the new .277 Fury from Sig

I'll let Mike speak for himself, but I'm not sure what you mean by 260 Fury. Do you mean a straight necked down version? Clearly the shoulder angle is different, but compare a 260 AI print to the Fury and it's quite close in brass OAL, shoulder diameter, and neck-shoulder junction height. As...

Reloading for the new .277 Fury from Sig

Just in case anyone in this thread isn't aware, American Reloading has pulled hybrid cases and a ton of 270 projectiles available e.g.: https://americanreloading.com/product/270-135gr-solid-copper-bt-blems-250ct/ I've bought a bunch of their hybrid brass and projectiles, just not for...

    10MM Reloading Questions

Did your loads pass the plunk test at that OAL? Take your barrel out and make sure they can spin freely when fully chambered.

    10MM Reloading Questions

But is it the same bullet listed there (an XTP I assume)? I haven't ever sized virgin brass. It also seems unlikely, but it's possible the un-crimped bullet was set back during feeding. Try pushing the bullet into the case and see if it moves. But really, do a workup.

    10MM Reloading Questions

Only pistol and you start out with a 10mm, eh? Bold move, I like it. Edit, misread your post. Disregard. The thing you have to appreciate with pistol reloading is how important OAL is. You listed most of your load details except that, which makes me concerned you didn't pay much attention to...

    6mm Arc for deer

6 ARC works well for deer, at least at close MN and WI ranges (<200 yds). I shot a decent doe this year with my 18" AR and 103 ELD, she didn't go 10 yds. Small sample size, but so far similar to 6.5 Grendel which has been great on deer. I'll take the 6 ARC out again next year, likely loaded with...

What is the most hated deer rifle you owned ?

Not mine, but my uncle's 7mm Weatherby Mag. Heavy-assed trigger, kicks like a mule, and the Z6 scope on it is super parallax-sensitive. Really difficult to shoot all-around, but he keeps on using it (and missing frequently).

Any Experience with 7mm 168 ABLR?

I've shot three elk with the 168 ABLR from my .284 Win. All went through (didn't hit bone though) and didn't recover any bullet or fragments but did their job well. Impacts were at around 2500 fps. They group nicely for me too (8 twist at 2850 fps).
