Browning X Bolt Speed 26" 7mm Rem Mag with Nosler ABLR

Finished experiments with RL22 powder with Hornady 7mm 175g ELD-X and Nosler 175g ABLR in my Browning XBOLT Speed 7 Rem Mag. Bullets chrono just over 3000 fps and both are sub-MOA using concentricity gage. The Browning has a long throat bolt face to rifling at 3.46 inches with these spitzers...

Browning X Bolt Speed 26" 7mm Rem Mag with Nosler ABLR

Yes the 168g ABLR's are hitting 3050 fps with IMR 4831 @47F and groups are near MOA, SD 11. Been testing Viht N560 with 175 ABLR and clocking 2974fps also 1 MOA w/SD 13. Did not encounter any case or primer concerns. Nice! Now will soon play with OAL and concentricity. Want to see what...

7mm Rem. Mag 162 ELDM vs 168 ABLR vs 168 VLD

I shoot Browning XBolt Speed 26"-the 168g ABLR with IMR 4831 w/ 64g max load. I get 3003 fps at 50degF and 2947 at 27degF w/ 3/4"@100 yds. Thats just 7g less than 175g. Worked up the load for long range moose. 2000 ft-lb/2300fps at 500 yards.

Browning X Bolt Speed 26" 7mm Rem Mag with Nosler ABLR

Thanks. Been shooting and hand loading for decades as a hunter. I am not a high-power shooter otherwise I would have waited till the 7PRC was available. The 7 Rem Mag is a hunter's cartridge. In time the PRC will gain some till the next 7 Pazzaz comes out but hunters that are happy with 7mm...

Browning X Bolt Speed 26" 7mm Rem Mag with Nosler ABLR

I bought a new Browning X-Bolt "Speed" in 7mm Rem. Mag. with 1:9.5 twist for moose hunting in Newfoundland. In hind sight, I would have preferred a 1:8.5 or 1:9 twist as these stabilize heavier bullets better. But did not want to pay for a custom rifle. However, I found the 7mm Nosler 168g...

Kimber 8400 Select Grade 338 Accuracy Fix

Ok I moved the business cards but no luck on 180 grain accuracy improvement better than MOA, in fact it deteriorated. I know this pressure method will work but am not finding the right spot or inadequate pressure. With the deresonator from Limbsaver and a floating barrel I can get groups to...

Kimber 8400 Select Grade 338 Accuracy Fix

Ok I went to the 100 yard bench rest range yesterday with 200 g e-Tips and Ballistic tips from Nosler and started testing the business card theory by adding them to the stock for-end. Since it was already a free floating barrel one business card just filled the gap so i shot with 2 business...

Kimber 8400 Select Grade 338 Accuracy Fix

I own a Kimber 8400 Select Grade in .338 Win Mag in French Walnut. It shoots Nosler 180 grain AccuBonds at 1 MOA but when I shoot 200, 225 and 250 my spread increases to 2.5 inches at 100 yards. At 1 inch my long range is limited to say 600 yard 6 inch kill zones. Kimber says the 8400 is best...

New member.. Kimber 8400 300WSM accuracy??

I would be interested in what a Gun Smith would say on the Bedding of the 8400 since Kimber touts a superior bedding. I shall investigate. Bolt torque is important and the sequence is also important. I have a torque wrench that I bought for my Ruger M77 to ensure the main lug is factory spec...

New member.. Kimber 8400 300WSM accuracy??

First..Great Question! The 300 WSM is a great cartridge. The 8400 is an excellent rifle. I own a Kimber 8400 Select Grade in .338 Win Mag. I love its looks. I have been able to get 1 inch groups with hand loaded 180g Nosler AccuBonds but larger bullets like the 200, 225 and 250g bullets do...

    ERH says Howdy

Hi All, I have been a member for a little while but perhaps not as involved as I would like as I am luckily employed. I have written an article which Len intends to publish on Scopes. I am first and foremost a hunter. I am 62 though many think I am 52, a good thing. I have been shooting like...
