    6.5mm - 25cal = .007"

Traditional twist rate and Bullet design / weight. I’m a fan of the 257 Roberts and the 270 WSM

Can You Get Flagged for Buying Too Much Ammo?

I keep my ammo in my pocket, a la Barney Fife. A pocket with six or fewer rounds is all I need.

    Reloading 101

You’re just starting out. Keep it simple, but good. Lots of reloading manuals, then read them. A rockchucker press, a good powder measure ( I use a Redding balance beam) . A good powder measure, again I use Redding. As far as dies, Forster is my preferred for rifles. I buy the same brand of...

    Nosler's revolutionary creation

They should have just done a fast twist 270 WSM. Maybe call it WSM-FT. Mark the ammo for fast twist only in the heavies.

    Premium 22LR Rifles

Styer Zephyr II. For Les money and a most likely more accurate rifle: CZ. The Styer rifles are beautiful and accurate. Very beautiful rifles. Don’t overlook Anshutz.

FL Bushing Die, FL Die, or Body Die/Neck Collet?

If it were me, I would get a Forster die set with the FL sizer and micrometer seater and rock on. You can produce quality, straight, accurate ammunition without a lot of fuss.

    Die cleaning

My recommendation is to hose them down with Seafoam Deep Creep. Dissemble and scrub with bronze brushes. Deep Creep gets carbon and rust as well as lubricating and preventing rust. It is all I use to clean anything but copper. I went through one fire and that was one too many. Best of luck to you.

    Shooters that do not hunt?

That is just so wonderful. Words cannot express how wonderful this is. Congratulations. You must be a great dad.

Whats the cartridge you LOVE to HATE?

My wife will shoot 375 H&H until the barrel melts. She loves it. 9mm not so much. She shoots her 642 38 special just fine. For her, I think muzzle blast is a bigger thing than recoil. She is a really good rifle shooter. She won a lot of matches at the local club level. She does struggle with...

Whats the cartridge you LOVE to HATE?

True, depending on your goal. The Beretta Chetah is a neat gun. Yes it’s too big for deep cover, but fun to shoot. Some people don’t like the blast of a 9mm, but tolerate the 380 just fine. Different strokes for different folks.

    Rem 700 trigger cleaning

Lighter fluid, like for a Zippo lighter. Flush the trigger and let it dry. There will be a very light, dry film left, and the trigger assembly will be clean. That has worked well for me for many years. Edit to add. This has been for Winchester M70, Timney replacement triggers on Rugers and the...

    257 Robert's

Yeah, I know what you mean. I live in Illinois, it’s shotgun with limited straight wall single shot rifles. I have a brother in Alabama and Alabama has a generous deer season. I would love to have the Roberts shooting well and take it along with the 270 WSM.

    257 Robert's

I have a Ruger Hawkeye in 257 Roberts. Most times it’s 2 to 3 inch three shot groups at 100 yards. Put in a timney trigger and bedded it. Still not good. I’ve gotten so frustrated that I haven’t messed with it for a while. I like the cartridge and the rifle, just not the accuracy. Once in a...

A little hammer goes a long way

I have a Ruger # 1 in 22Hornet that I think I may have to try some Hammers in.
