Same here. I'd love to hunt them but clean farming and heavy predation means very few rabbits. They were everywhere when I was a kid. Didn't see a coyote before I turned 40, though. Now they're everywhere, and raptors on every power line.

I'd have a pile of them if they were legal here.

That's a very heavy scope for a small rifle, but it'll work just fine. Depending on what range you're planning to shoot, the 6x or 10x fixed powers might be a better choice.

Check out the Boonie-Packer slings. There's a woven-in rubber thread that really works for preventing slippage. Very lightweight as well.

FWIW, I've bought used Hardinge collets for a song from eBay. Some of them even looked rough, but every one was accurate. Of course mill collet accuracy isn't as critical as lathe. I'm not sure a full set even has 25 in it, all Imperial. How many tooling shank sizes do you really have?

Lots of good info here, but the piece I'll add: Dip them in water first. Keeps a lot of hair on the hide and off the meat!

Shot one once that I was convinced was well over 20 lbs. Very old animal - but it actually weighed just under 20. Western NY. The size increase from spring to fall is huge - they really pack on the pounds!

Shot a blackbird at 175 yards with a 22 when I was maybe 14. Got real interested in reproducing that shot!
