I'm in the market for a new rifle and I'm looking at .308 or a .300 win mag. Imbunsure about the .308's effective killing distance on big game. Will a .308 put big game down at 1000 yards or is that not very likely? Thanks!!

It's a pre 64 model 70 Winchester. In the condition it's in currently it's appraised at $5,000 the finish is comming of and it seems like every time we take it out it has a new din or scratch. I want to keep it in the condition it is in right now.:D Thanks for the info on the barrel!

Somebody said something about changing the barrel on a rifle every so often? I'm looking at buying a .300 Win Mag for my up coming 16th birthday. I really only hunt i don't shoot rifles except sighting in and at game. I have my grandpas .270 its getting to the point where we need to retire it...

If I have a 1/8 moa scope, how many clicks up/down do I need to do to go out to 200, 300, 400, 500-1000? I just need a list please! After the list some explaining why those are the values is correct would be nice if you don't mind!gun) Thank you!
