Buy a Eberlestock backpack, makes carrying heavy rifles easy....have used on for several years, buddy also uses one for his 416 Barrett....carries nice....

I know...Old Thread.....my shooting buddy just bought a Barrett M99 416 and recoil is nothing....kicks no more than a 243, if that.....

I'm not telling anyone to listen or to do anything.....it's his choice but, people buy surplus 5.56 ammo and use in .223 rifles.....I have not seen any failures...not saying there has not been.....I think if this was a big issue you would be seeing more about it and pics of the failures on every...

I have shot 5.56 surplus ammo for years in Mini-14, my AR15's and never a problem....with .223 chamber.....

The Weaver scope works very well in low light and at least out to a 1000...farthest I have shot with it....I have owned 6.5 x 20 Leupold and Nikon at same time on 2 diff. rifles and everyone who looked through both always picked the Nikon or said they could see no difference...

Also try HSM 338 ammo...i use it in my AR30 and it shoots very good....never an issue...

I have one of the new Weaver 4 x 20 front focal tactical mil-dot scopes on my AR30 338 and it costs way less and has everything majority of shooters will ever need...plenty of adjustment....side focus...good clear optics...as good or better than any leupold I have ever owned....prefer nikon to...

Thanks...good points on the why's....i'm the simpler is always better type...and most over the counter rifles will shoot better than average shooter can...and it is true a better or more accurate rifle will enhance a shooters ability...smallbore rifle competition I learned is absolutely best way...
