Great looking rifle! You will not be disappointed. I just took a nice bull a few weeks ago with my Model 24 30-06. Do you know what the bare rifle weighs? I have been wrestling with the thought of ordering a Model 20 in 284W.

I have had great success with 130 Accubonds with over a dozen mule deer, whitetails, and antelope since 2014. I have not shot elk with them, but would not hesitate to do so. I have loaded them with H4831 and Fed 215s. If you are set on 140-150s, I would lean towards the 140 Accubond or 150...

I have had the best luck with fingerless wool gloves for both upland and waterfowl. If it's really cold, I wear a thin wool liner underneath. This enables me the dexterity to easily reload and feel the trigger.

I don't believe there is a wrong choice, as they are both top shelf performers. The ballistics of your loads at 600 yards are a wash. Rank your pick base on accuracy of each load and felt recoil. You can shoot a hundred elk with each load and likely not be able to distinguish the difference...

I definitely love chasing mule deer through the hills in search of that ancient brut. Would love to have the opportunity to go higher after sheep/goat.
