Crow sniping at 93 yards (video)

Nice shot, well done. Was that a Nebelkraehe, I think Hooded Crow in English. Saw tons of them in Bosnia and also some in Germany.

    28ga shooters

I was going to hunt big birds that didn't fly. Kinda off topic, but I was getting set up to shoot a deer with my R93 rifle and 28 guage barrel. Got some Brenneke slugs, put an Aimpoint on it. Great setup, shot excellent. But I had trouble extracting the spent casings. The cases would...

    Swift bullets

Great bullet. Used 180gr A Frames in 30-06 to shoot dozens of deer & wild boar. They stay together without blowing gaping holes in game.

Why can't i reload exact cartridges?

Great guys, thanks, I got it -- it's all of the above, lol. I do believe it is a combination of things, mostly bullet seater and neck tension. I now see the light where that would affect the results, thank you all for your comments, appreciate it. This particular load is not compressed.

Why can't i reload exact cartridges?

As the Title suggests, I find it almost impossible to load cartridges that are all exact. I understand there are so many variables it is impossible, but something has been bothering me for years. Let me see if I can explain what I'm trying to say here, and it has to do with the measurement of...

Can a Case be too Short?

Thanks to all, appreciate the responses and different views. Are the Sinclair Chamber Length Guages a good way to measure? For 6 bucks a caliber, I think I'll try a couple and see, won't be out much if they don't work as advertised. I've had good results from Sinclair purchases in the past...

Can a Case be too Short?

Don't get me wrong they also get long, however for whatever reason after a couple reloadings there's always a few that are short short. Lot of Hornets get short, just a small case to start with. Last batch was 6,5x55, about 15 somewhat short. Not as many on the larger cases like 30-06, 300...

Why is the Forster CO-AX press so sought after?

You can decap on a Forster, just use a Universal Decap Die. I personally use a Rockchucker with a Lee Decap Die. Broke so many pins off the RCBS Universal Die I gave up on it, used to steal a lot of pins from other RCBS Dies but just was too much of a pain.

Can a Case be too Short?

Just curious, as I end up with short cases quite often, I think mainly due to using a VLD inside chamfer. Anyway, I no longer trim cases .010 under max case length, usually .005 under as I know they'll get shorter over time. But how short is too short to not use? I'm kind of a miser, and...

Why is the Forster CO-AX press so sought after?

Have used Rock Chuckers well for a few decades, but wanted a Cadillac so got the Co Ax, wasn't disappointed. Well made press, no slop other than floating Dies/Shellholder system. Lotta presses make good ammo, I find the Co Ax at or near the top in press quality and output.

Crossbow Shooters - What are you shooting?

Another Excaliber user here, Excocet, does an excellent job. Only complaint I'd have is it is not a real quiet shooter, but it hasn't been detrimental to date. I like it simple, no pulleys, extra cables, etc, and decock with string without shooting it.

4 gun centerfire battery, you pick them??

Don't need four different guns, just 4 barrels. All fit on the Blaser R93 Pro so I'm using the same stock and action . . . have to cut my list down to .22 Hornet, 6.5x55, 300WinMag and 9,3x62 ;) My other barrels didn't make the cut: .223, .243, 30-06 . . . and of course 28 Guage, lol.

Stainless Tumbling Media... anyone use this?

Occasionally a pin will stick in a case here and there, mostly in the smaller calibers like 22 up to 6.5. Just inspect each case with a AA Maglite, I use a bent paper clip with a small hook to free them and then throw those pins away. Out of 100 cases I may have up to a dozen, more so in...

    223 for Deer

Good points from both sides, however I am generally on the 243 minimum side for deer. It is one thing to hunt all season in your backyard and pick your shots, in the hands of a someone who has patience and experience this is deadly with cf 22s and good bullets. Or should we ask the question...

CED M2 Chronograph Review By Bryan Chatwell

Good read, lot of good info. I've had the CED2 for a while and so far so good. I use the IR all the time, but don't have any shield. Might be the thing to do is run it w/o IR and the first ERR you get plug in the IR. I use the battery pack as there's no juice on the outdoor range I use. Another...
