Even though tempers got heated, i found this tread very educational......I'm a noob to this long range stuff, but have tried my share of hail marys on coyotes....

    300rum

7mm was what i had been thinking about then looked at the 300RUM..... I'm just kinda stuck, in IA we can only hunt antlerless deer for a week or so in January and coyotes with a hi-power....so all i really need is a .243, but was thinking bigger badded faster meaner.....

Thinking about getting into a better long range rig, or at least someting longer than my current 400yrds. The 300RUM caught my eye when looking at ballistics in the Hornady hand book. Whats the good-bad-ugly with this cartridge? I was thinking about getting in the 700 Sendero..

I have owned SBE's for 15+ years and feels great in my hands, the Browning just don't feel rite, Extrema's are to bulky feeling, and the Winny, well I like it...

    Fact or Fiction

    Bipod or shooting sticks?

I have 2 sets of Harris, the medium and tallest models, like them, but...... Also have a set of homemade pvc, about 32" long with a bolt thru them about 3"down, I like these alot but it's something exta to carry.
