Your going your hunt of a lifetome what are you hunting and what rifle are you using ? Mine is easy

I am going on my hunt of a lifetime this September in Alaska for moose. The goal is for a 60” or larger bull. I bought a tikka 3X lite .300 wsm 24.3” stainless steel barrel and topped it with a Leupold vx-5HD 3-15X44 using a spuhr one piece mount and shooting factory (sorry reloading community)...

    Favorite 44m scope 500 yards

I just purchased this “like new” VX-5HD firedot taking a bit of a gamble with Eurooptics and it paid off. This was brand new in the box with factory cellophane still on. Couldn’t be happier. I was looking to stay under $1K as well. Not sure if they still have the deal or not.

    Scope Rings with Integrated Level

Yes, I follow this method - Wheeler Engineering Level Level Level Scope Mounting Leveling Tool and follow up with a plumb line. so once this is done and the level is on the scope mount, everything is level and you can view it while you have your head in position to shoot.

    Scope Rings with Integrated Level

I have ordered a spuhr mount and am planning on adding this level. It’s not integrated into the ring but rather an accessory that bolts to the mount where you want it )front or back). Took me a long time to come up with this plan and I hope it works.

Air Compressor - Piping for Gunsmithing Equipment

Silfos is the typical copper brazing product used for refrigeration systems and air conditioning. No flux needed and with a nitrogen purge it will keep the inside of the line absolutely clean. This is what med gas in hospitals is done with. I’m speaking oxygen lines that if ruptured would be...

Air Compressor - Piping for Gunsmithing Equipment

One last comment. Compressed anything is dangerous. A factory that was one of our accounts had a 15’ high 10’ wide compressed air ASME rated tank with around 200psi in it. It appeared to be in perfect condition from the outside. The air dryer was not properly maintained. The auto blowdown system...

    60” Club Moose hunt

I am booking an Alaskan moose hunt for September 2024 with 60” Club out of Fairbanks. It’s a DIY (sort of) moose hunt and will be the trip of a lifetime. Does anyone have any experience with them? Linda Sessions is our main contact. I have hunted moose in Canada and ek in Colorado but this...

    Good pair of hip boots?

I looked for some time a bit back and could not find any good ones to replace mine. Seems like they don’t make a decent pair anymore. I hope someone will chime in with a decent option. My old ones were purchased from The Sportsman's Guide many years ago. Air grip soles, snaps to hold the uppers...

    Who makes warm boots?

One other trick I have learned is putting a hand warmer on top of my head and then a hat. Really helps keep everything warm when you are stand hunting in super cold weather all day. If it gets too hot put it in between two hats. Can’t say enough how much that helps.

    Who makes warm boots?

My feet always used to freeze long before any other part of me got the slightest bit cold. I spent a great deal of time and money trying to keep them warm. Finally I got a kidney transplant and now my feet are warm. It might be a bit extreme but it worked for me. True story. Now I make sure I...

A little hammer goes a long way

Be sure to soak the corncobs with water so they burn slow and smoke instead of just creating excess heat and burn the pork though.

A little hammer goes a long way

I always used to cook pig over charcoal and corn cobs. Not sure what it is about corn cobs but it’s great eating if you can get your hands on some.
