Remington 700 338 Win Mag Stainless RMEF Edition (VA)

Oh. Gotcha. Thanks for the reply. It's actually a pretty sweet gun. Never shot a .338win mag tho. ****, never shot anything bigger than a 270wsm. Have you shot her? How's she handle?

Remington 700 338 Win Mag Stainless RMEF Edition (VA)

Hey guys. Keep seeing BUMP and TTT in these classifieds. New to the forum. Could someone fill me in

    Why am I splitting necks?

Also having an issue with the bolt not closing on the same brass. I mic the whole case and can't find any difference to other cases that feed no problem...I have to check each case for proper function before I load it....the local shop recommended a local guy that makes custom bump dies. Fire...

    Why am I splitting necks?

I was having the same problem with my Winchester 270wsm brass. After a few loads they would split down the neck, sometimes in more than one spot. I use Hornady dies and dont load anywhere near max. I recently started "poor man annealing" in Hope's that will solve the problem. I've been...

Looking for realistic 7mm Rem mag numbers

I was playing with the 700 LR at cabelas. It's a heavy mofo. 9# according to the cabelas website. But you probably welcome the weight if you're launching magnum rounds....

Looking for realistic 7mm Rem mag numbers

Imartin...I hear ya. The whole "how hard could it be" actually had a winking face next to it that didn't post for some reason. The Smith's that have been doing this forever definitely have a leg up in the game and i whole heartedly mean no disrespect. But I'm in the mood for a new project. The...

Looking for realistic 7mm Rem mag numbers

I think a custom rifle is the way to go. No matter how hard I look I just can't find that perfect off the shelf gun. I found a few Remington 700 actions on line for sale. Primarily .300 RUM according to the ad and I have yet to research if it could be used for anything else. The Kreiger barrels...

Looking for realistic 7mm Rem mag numbers

Tbrice23...truth be told I haven't had the best of experiences with the savage line. I've had a couple 11/111 (I think that's the model number) and I want impressed with them at all. Had one in a .243 and a .300 win mag. Sold em both to buy my .308 ADL. I'm not usually the type to abandon...

Looking for realistic 7mm Rem mag numbers

The Ridgeline was my first choice. Real sharp looking rifle. Then research led me to the Classic. Funny how that works. You set a budget and it climbs higher and higher as you do more research. I have a couple short action browning xbolts and 2 Remington 700 ADLs. One in .308, the other in...

Looking for realistic 7mm Rem mag numbers

The sendero is definitely a nice looking rifle. I've heard numerous times that they're the least recoiling rifle on the market in the magnum calibers. Not that I'm recoil sensitive but it's always nice to shoot a rifle that's pleasant to shoot lol.

Looking for realistic 7mm Rem mag numbers

So I went to pick up rifle and it was beat up pretty bad. Cabelas Gun Library made it out to be brand new. Decided to pass. So now the search begins for a new rifle. Any suggestions? Thinking maybe a Christensen Arms classic....but at $3000.00 it's almost worth building a custom rifle...

I like the 110gr hornady BTHP match bullets over IMR4350 out of my 270wsm..hornady book shows it about 3500 but I haven't been able to verify the speed myself. Does a number on coyotes.

Looking for realistic 7mm Rem mag numbers

I just keep reading guys complaining about faulty factory specs and testing done with a 24" barrel, thus my original question. I reload a bunch of different cartridges and would eventually start loading in 7mm. I've been considering making a jump to a bigger round with a larger spread from the...
