I prefer to TIG weld handles. Handle location & timing can be held to tighter tolerances with heat transfer & clean up being non existent.

Running Moly'd 80/90gr VLD's at 3200+fps over 36gr of 4350/RL19 yields 2500/3000 rounds of sub 3/8 MOA accuracy. VLD's are supersonic beyond 1K. I haven't setback/recrowned a fast twist barrel at the 3K mark for sporter/varmint use so I can't comment on accuracy or round count potential.

I've a couple cut rifled 1:8" twist barrels chambered in 22.250 with 2500+ rds thru them launching moly'd Sierra/JLK/Berger 80-90gr projectiles @3200+fps. Loaded with 4350/RL19 burn rate powders. Projectile is supersonic beyond 1K.
