Not a tight necked chamber custom is it?
I experienced large velocity jumps and large pressure spikes and poor accuracy in a tight necked 22-243.
Once I neck turned to give a good 3 thou clearance then all problems disappeared and accuracy superb.

G'day,
I find the Nightforce Velocity 600 HV reticle perfect on my 22-243 to 660 yards.
The reticle is so fine that you can quarter a crow at 550 yards on only 10x power.
Maybe a velocity 1000 in the correct format to match your cartridge would work.
I found their reticle calculator on...
mtnwrunner,
Ptex - got it.
In Australia we have more rocks than snow, so base and edge repairs are frequent here.
Winter Olympics we get the occasional gold medal - mainly the girls in aerial freestyle and Torah Bright got one in snowboard.
The blokes have a bit of a go in moguls, and...
Ptex?
Thanks for the info fella's.
3 kids 13yo boy, 11 yo boy, and 8yo girl. All advanced skiers for their age. I'm weak to medium advanced.
Lots of blues and a few blacks sounds good.
Probably not up to avalanche prone areas, as we have absolutely no experience with that type of snow...
Sorry fella's,
The moderator's can bin this thread or move it if needed.
Just out of curiousity does anyone here from the Rockies have an opinion about Big Sky ski resort?
Have been wanting to ski the US for a few years now and heard good things about Big Sky. Apparently it's a well kept...
Thanks Shawn,
Good to know that tail heavy makes for a solid ride on the bags.
Now I'm curious to know if extending a forestock to near the muzzle would influence ride and accuracy?
Although if it was a significant then the benchrest guys would probably all be running stocks or tubes that...
Thanks.
Just wondering whether there may be any difference in the physics of the recoil phase due to the different ergonomics of the stock design.

Broz,
About the improved stability. I've been wondering whether the LRKM has a longer distance between butt rest and bipod than regular rifles?
That is, if this distance is greater then it creates a longer 'parallelogram' of bracing than other rifles?
Also I wonder whether having the...
That left hand Sako 280AI is the ducks guts, but a fair bit of coin.
But it's a lot of good quality equipment for the price. If you had to build that rig from the components it would cost a lot more.
Shame about the Tikka though, they are arguably the best value for money new rifle...
I agree with bigngreen and Bobcape.
I have one Nightforce that fits best with 0.094 mRad click value and another with 1.05 mRad click value. These inputs make the flight curve fit over all distances rather than either up close only or out wide only.
Try the butchers paper trick, it can yield...
Thanks fella's,
Your replies confirm what I thought. I have a chrony to lock that variable down.
I have a 100m and 220m paper range and steel plates at 680m and 810m at the bench at home, and 910m and 1000m steel plates at a neighbours down the road.
So far I haven't been quite able to...
