We carry Kuiu and Mystery Ranch pop up with game bags. Break em down and bag em, hang em. Pack out what we can first trip, then switch to the Badlands OX ( the original one) for the serious stuff. We still have the old Cabela's and Kelty freighters for other guys when we are able to get help.
The most of our elk are killed with a .308 followed up with 30-06 and 300rum, and we have all of the other stuff including a 6.5cm. You can get one later, but start with a .30 cal. ad learn to hunt and not just shoot.
In 2013 I shot this buck pictured at 300 yards with 300RUM 180gr Nosler Partition. Slightly quartering away. Shot for offside shoulder. Buck Mule kicked like a heart shot reaction. Had NO blood, NO Hair, NO Nothing. Searched for 2 days with still nothing. Morning of day 3 found him alone...
We are running all 3 of these triggers in different builds. I think they are all comparable. FYI Grayboe is built by McMillan and only comes RH. We're having good luck with Bell & Carlson as well.
