Hello
I found a pair of used swaros that have a serial number starting with D7120. They are SLCs in a 10x42. Do you guys know how I can age these? Are these the latest model?
Thanks
Sam
I thought I was over prepared but as with all new things you don't know what you don't know. I'm definitely looking at this as a lesson more than a hunt. If I don't harvest anything I wouldn't be upset at all as long as I come away with experience.
I figured there would be externalities like comfort etc. I wasn't dismissing that so much as thinking if these boots get me through the hunt it's not throw away money. I honestly don't know much about the logistics of the hunt. It's a cow hunt I believe on both public and private land.
I have tons of wool socks. I've been doing some math though and if these $400 shoes only last 3 seasons they are effect they same price as replacing the Danners every year.
Thanks for all the advice. I would up getting some Danner High Grounds with 400g insulation. Reason was really how quickly I could get them, reviews in comparison to the Pronghorns, cost, and break in time. I got them for about $140 delivered so if they last me a season or two that will give me...
Hello
I'm going on my first elk hunt in Chama shortly. I'm just going through my packing list and I had some concerns about my boots. I have Muck Boot Elites which I don't love but they are waterproof and keep scent down. That makes them good enough for treestand hunting where I don't do many...
Hello
I got my factory Savage 111 LRH and I never adjusted the accutrigger mostly out of ignorance. I'm not thinking I should really make the trigger weight a bit lower because I noticed that even when I dry fire squeezing the trigger moves the rifle in the direction my squeeze.
Maybe...
Interesting. This entire process is so complex. I keep feeling like I'm making wrong decisions for purchases and everyone has differing opinions. I've been hearing from a few people that full length resizing is now the preferred method. I sometimes feel like this stuff is a bit of science mixed...
I was thinking I need to come up more for colder weather as well but the ballistics calc also was down .1 so instead of the regular .6 is hows it showed me .5. Could have been the other conditions? I was at a 300 yard range (the longest in my area) and I'm zero'd at 200 yards. I'm shooting a 7RM.
OCW seems like a pretty easy to follow process. I've gotten everything from "I always full resize" to "only neck size" but the latter makes the most sense to me so that's what I'm going to start with. I think I'm going to start as soon as I can get home from work before 9pm... hopefully next...
Hello
I'm just getting started out with reloading so in the meantime I picked up some Barnes VOR-TX factory ammo in 7RM 150gr TTSX. It's been unseasonably warm in the Northeast and so I have been mostly shooting in quite warm weather say mid-60s or above. Yesterday however the temps dropped...
