So far every scope I've dismantled has basically the same innards independent of outer tube (for a given manufacturer). Most GOOD scope builders (USO, S&B etc) will tell you the big tube is for MOVEMENT.
OK here's one -an extreme one used to deliberately OVER compensate - it's about 100MOA!
SAKO RINGS - see that inner ring which self centres?
Prototyping - see the rear washers/shims?
These using a custom base for a special "benchrest" airgun - but the Sako bases bolt onto their rings - all...
Get a set of SAKO OPTILOCK rings and put a small shim at the rear (twixt ring and base) - The Integrated swivel inserts do the rest - I've done one with WAY over 60MOA this way.
No 1st hand experience.
But:-
They look VERY Hakko-ish. Infact the spec's being bandied about (geared zoom) suggest they are rebadged HAKKO. SFP reticles. HAKKO went bust - so this is somebody now building using HAKKO designs. I doubt very much if they're built in Germany at that price too...
IOR's are my choice where I cannot justify an S&B. I have a 3-18*42SFP and it's excellent. Repeatable. It's correct at 10mag.
Also have a 3-18*42FFP sat at the Post Office for collection Monday.
OK I have 4 IOR and another on its way. IOR is what I now choose for applications where I cant justify an S&B PM2
1) IOR use Schott Glass - as used by USOptics and others - The coatings were (I'm unsure what the current stand is) Zeiss Tessar (these were originally Camera lens coatings and...
THERE IS A First Focal Plane model with the clicks in MILS! - It's what I have!
Also has a lit reticle (red) which makes the reticle more usable at low mag esp in the woods. - Ask SWFA or Scott Berish at Liberty Optics (you can find him on Snipershide)
1) 1m at 1000m is EXACTLY 1/1000 of the radial distance or 1 mili-radian.
2) On an SFP scope the reticle/image relationship quoted is only valid at one power setting - calibrating distances at other mag settings is JUST maths.
On IOR scopes this "true" value differs scope to scope. It's...
I've tried & use both TPS (Steel Tactical) in 34mm and Seekins (6 screw) in 35mm. Would be happy with either.
The Seekins rings have a feature you either like or dont. I DO. They offer a version without that BIG nut on the side. Glen (Seekins) also does rails - and offers various MOA versions...
Tom
Posted in "rimfire" too - but I'd make a conversion rail and epoxy/bolt it onto the receiver. Brownels have P1913/Weaver and even 11mm(iirc) blanks - Any decent machine shop can mill a concentric slot in the base - I do this with Airguns a fair bit!
Or give Glen Seekins a call - He's...
