Sorry I can't help you there... I would probably make a trip to see Mr. Goble in person and find out what is really going on! Has anyone pushed their t/c hawken or renegade 45 out past 200yds. If so how did you do it? What recipe?
I know this May be changing the subject. But I have a .45 cal Thompson center hawken. Has anyone tried to push a hawken to shoot long range? If so what is your recipe? I haven't shot it much but I do plan on pushing it. I put an adjustable rear peep sight on it. Just wondering if someone...
I was using the 168gr bthp match hornady rounds this winter. I shot awesome groups with this bullet out to 1000yds. Now that it warmed up my groups with the 168 opened up. I was going to try a new recipe with this same 168. But I found some 178 gr a-max bullets on sale and decided to try...
I just rebarreled my savage 110fp in 25-06. I got a 26" bull from Mcgowen outlet. I am just about done breaking it in and so far it shoots great with the Berger vld's. I need to do some more load development to get it shooting perfect but it shot all around the target at 1760yards just...
What are you looking to build? I have done a couple of savage rifles and may be able to help. I don't know of a book or certain site that deals with this.
My brother In-law just recently had the same problem with a savage 110 ba 300 win mag. We couldn't get it to shoot consistently at all with any factory ammo. I'm still not sure why... Im starting to think that the factory loads are terrible for the 300 win mag. I suggested we do some...
If you have access to an iPhone download isnipe in the apps. It is a great ballistics calculator that automatically factors in weather and altitude. So you can take it to the range and get real time ballistics. I have used this to shoot out to 1760 yards and I have also helped out a ton of...
Oh and by the way.... I also shoot a savage 25-06 with a 26" mcgowen barrel. It's a great gun! I have shot this out to a mile with the Berger vld's. Not too consistent out that far but I was amazed I was making shots within a couple feet of a 18" metal swinger!
If you have an iPhone available download isnipe in the apps. I highly recommend it! I have used it for a year now and it is the best and easiest ballistics calculator I have seen so far. I hope this helps!
