Back in the day we used 8mm brass. Ran it thru a 7mm STW die. Put a bit of blue dot in it. Packed it 1/2 with corn meal and put cotton in the rest to hold everything in. Made a heck of a mess but worked.

My 7mm STW loves IMR 4831. 140gr Nosler BT. 3213FPS and extremely tight groups.

This little 25/06 has taken over 25 antelope. Shooting a 87 gr Berger moly bullet. With my luck though they are no longer made. Once I run out I’ll have to find a new load.

Congratulations on your AZ draw. I’ve been trying to draw an elk tag for the last 3 years in AZ with no luck. I live in AZ and see elk weekly on side roads. Need to be careful driving at night.

I use IMR4350 powder with 53.5 grs. Berger 95 gr moly bullet. Deadly in antelope. Sure wish I could find more 95 gr moly bullets

That’s one thing that scares the heck out of me. Forgetting my ammo. Shooting a 7mm STW so Ammo not the easiest thing to find. I always physically touch my Ammo inside my truck before I leave somewhere. I did one time forget my binos in my truck while stalking antelope. 🤬

I have the same set up as you. My rifle does not like Retumbo for some reason. I use 4831 for lighter bullets. I have not used Hammer bullets yet but plan on it in the near future. I’m having good results with 140 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips. You may get ahold of Hammer and get their suggestion.
