For sale Desert tech SRS A1. Can be configured in one of two ways. I have both a 300 Win Mag or 300 Norma Mag barrels. They are Almost identical except for the caliber. The barrels are deep spiral fluted SAC 23.5” 1-8 twist. Barrels are threaded 5/8-24. The round count both barrels are 300...
My SAC barrel shoots a loaded round that is 3.582 OAL. Best my memory serves me get the bullet at the neck shoulder junction or real close I have been very pleased with my barrel. I went with a 1-8 twist.
In my standard Norma accuracy is 2950 ish with a 215 23” barrel. N570 got me real close to 3100. If you want to use H1000 and reach those speeds, I would go improved.
I have had both 338s and 300s. The 300s are easier to drive in my opinion. The only sacrifice in my option is if you think you need another 50-100 grains of bullet. I now shoot a 300 NM with 215. I feel is every bit as good as 338 out the ranges you specified.
I agree with CA48. Most guns will be easier to shoot and spot hits with a brake. I have a couple of bullpup rifles that are better for me with a can. I can still spot hits at 800plus with the can. It’s all about what you prefer and practice with.
