For the last 10 or so years I’ve used Federal Blue box BB in either 1 1/4 or 1 1/8. Recently, I’ve switched to Boss Bismuth #4 in 1 1/2. I’ve been extremely happy with this new shell, it’s completely knocking birds out. I have noticed the number of cripples reduce greatly!

I used to be a big Kuiu fan, but in the last few years I’ve switched to Sitka. That said, the Kuiu Yukon jacket is flat out the best rain jacket I’ve ever used.

I wear OR expedition gaiters and love them. Had the same pair for 8-9 years by now. The water proofing is starting to wear off by now, but with the mileage I’ve gotten from them I’m more than happy. I’ll replace them with the same this off season.

I would look into the Nevada’s. The leather is rumored to be waterproof.

I have always gone with 2 years after is best. But, if there are green shoots of grass growing the following year it could be very good! Especially with the increased visibility that the burn provides.
