the only vanguard I’ve owned was a nice rifle that shot well and the action was decently nice, fed, ejected, functioned well. Not as bind resistant as a tikka but not bad either.

Def unnecessary for it to shoot, but may help you shoot it better. Especially the higher buttpad I think helps stay on target vs the sporter style stocks.

the reticle I really liked for mixed eastern and some western hunting (very easy to see in woods/brush etc)
