Id would definitely agree there. With the amount I get from cheap brass, I'd be disappointed otherwise

They are a lot cheaper. Just wonder how they would compare to lapua

Don't sleep on the Winchester brass 😂 I've had good luck with it. When I ran the numbers the 165s actually drifted more than the 150s and that's why I went 150, the range we shoot has some wicked and unpredictable winds. I would agree on the 165s for hunting, and that's what I intended to use...

I can't really see the advantage of the 160s up to the 180s in the 30-06. Seems for my case pushing the lighter bullets faster is the way. If I do step up I'll probably start around the 190s. Definitely gonna try imr4831 How do you like the lapua brass

I definitely appreciate your insight. Still learning about cleaning techniques

Th This is actually my first 30-06 and the first rifle I've purchased. I chose the 30-06 over the 308 specifically for 200-230gr bullets. I'm definitely going to try them out at some point but thanks for the insight. I've heard great things about the CX bullets but have never used them. I've...

I tried the lower nodes, didn't see any better groups, then again I didn't try them at 300, that's why I'm wondering if there is a faster node. I ran the numbers on Bergers 155s and those seemed to be the best until I get into the heavies. Maybe Sierra has a good option in that range.

I appreciate the the insight but I have to do this as cheaply as possible as I'm a broke college student. I definitely plan on trying some better bullets. And maybe ordering some lapua brass at some point.

I was planning for a 1 in 7" for the 127 hammers. I do wanna try some Bergers in the 30-06.

I have a second 30-06 I was thinking of making a switch barrel with a 25-06ai. I have a feeling my father would commender that one from me 😂. The farthest I can shoot RN is 300. Definitely shows more than a 100 yard group will.

Definitely will do. It seems that imr4350 is a powder that just shoots. We use it in a couple other cartridges and no matter what it shoots well. So far big game has been really good in everything as long as I don't do anything stupid. Thinking about trying to see if there is a node closer to...

Looks like my few 9 1/2s are corroded, given there was a out ten left laying in a box in the bottom drawer 😂. I'll definitely looking into trying the Winchester Magnum primers as I do have a decent few, from what I was told they were way too hot, I won't be over pressure will I?

    30-06 Competition Loads

I'm thinking it will shoot a lot better once I can buy some decent bullets like a Berger or SMK. I've thought about playing with IMR4831 and some 208 Bergers but haven't seen anything on that combo.

Sadly the only others I have are Winchester Magnum primers and I'm gonna go out on a limb and say those are a bit too hot. But then again maybe not. How would a Remington 9 1/2 compare?

I got a bag of 250 for free. It's a 750$ hunting rifle and so far with those bullets I've got two sub moa loads. Obviously they aren't ideal but for doing things on a budget (hence my name) I'm pretty happy with it. I sorted them by overall length and that helped a lot with seating.
