backed the charge down to 110 gr of BH209 and got much better results at 200 yds. Zeroed in at 100 then my second mil dot on my leupold super slam reticle was about 2 inches high at 200 and i was getting a three inch group with the 290 gr TEZ. didn't have time to try further out but so far it...

i will try backing it down to 110 gradually. I haven't tried that. i have the remington 250 gr that came with the gun. i guess i could try them as well. also, i've heard that re-priming the UML brass has its limitations ... i don't understand how it would be any different than any other brass?

Encore.. the WM 300 gr bullets look to group better in the pic above. Who makes the WM 300 gr bullet? I'm having trouble getting the 290s to group at all past 100 yds. with the sabot that comes with it. i'm using 130 gr of BH209. 25 shots .. no constancy at all.

do you know specifically what Barns bullets your contact is using in the UM? And yes.. i will be posting up pics as i go. the Parkers are apparently very good but the Match/Hunter would get very expensive very quick. i would like to find a bullet i can shoot and shoot a lot without having to...

i'm going to renew this thread since its been a few years... and i'm heading to New Mexico on a muzzleloader elk hunt this fall. i have never hunted elk before (impossible tag to draw in Arkansas) but have been advised to be able to shoot 300 yards. Seems like a stretch with a smoke pole but...
