if your concidering the contender there is three choices of frames. the pre g2 contenders have a trigger setup anyone can tune at home to a pound or so just by trimming the little spring under the trigger. the g2's and encores have the same basic trigger and should be sent to someone to tune...

thanks for the responses the only reason i didn't really consider the #6 contour was that i do alot for offhand shooting and i didn't want the gun to be really barrel heavy thanks again

i'm getting the final funds together to order my 700 rebarrelled by pac-nor to 6.5 stw. i would like to hear your opinions on barrel twist and contour. my plans are for this to be a sporter-weight carry gun 9-10 lbs max. i'm looking at shooting only 140 grain bullets. here's the problems 1...

i just received two holland recoil lug for future rem 700 projects. the question is: the holland lugs are set up to be pinned, so is it more accurate to be pinned or is it just so you can make a switch barrel gun if you want? in other words do i pin or not i'm not interested in a switch barrel...

crispin and mtba i didn't mean to say anything to offend. i just would never have believed a handgun round would be able to retain enough energy to do the job at those ranges. the accuracy would not be a problem i understand that. as you would be shooting from a bench and 1 moa accuracy would...

i agree its pretty awesome but i think you need to freefloat the barrel for better accuracy lol yet us know how it shoots

thanks doc it looks like your 6.5 stw is working fine for you. those 140's at 3400 should really hammer deer. what is your barrel twist and do you think 26 in is to short i want a sporter gun so any longer is kind of out of the question. thanks again
