I don't think the load is compressed, but possibly. These measurements are right after seating, rather than in the morning.

There is a pretty clean clip or stop when the seater hits the contact point part way down the bullet tip. I'm not feeling anything that feels like the plastic tip may be hitting the back prior to the metal to metal contact. But, if you've seen a variable tip length it may include variability...
