+1 on the magneto speed, especially if you're shooting with a suppressor. Labradar can be finicky with rounds fired through a suppressor and supposedly you need to tinker with the calibration a lot in order to get it to read. My magneto speed v3 has worked flawlessly, suppressed and unsuppressed.
You have high quality components so I understand the confusion. If it were me, I don't know if I'd have your same amount of patience--so kudos to you!
You could take a peak at the bedding and ensure that the action is properly set into the stock. Remove the stock from the action and re-torque...
I've got the earlier generation and been using it since it was realeased; the sig 2400 abs. I haven't had any issues with mine and may be looking to upgrade next year. Glad to hear the 8k is living up to the hype as it's on my radar!
I looked through the EOTECH Vudu 1-10x28 at the gun counter the other day and I've been eyeing a shorty blackout bolt rifle ever since! Whatever optic you get, that gun looks fun!
Plenty of animals have been killed from hunters wearing blue jeans and a flannel! It's definitely not a requirement to get a full high-end clothing system for your hunt but it would likely make your hunt a little more enjoyable. If you're willing to drop the money then my two cents are below...
No experience with the 175 gr LRX but I'm running a 300 win mag with 190gr LRX bullets. I've harvested two bull elk with the 190's. One was at 390 yards and it instantly dropped dead. The other was at 330 yards and it took less than 10 steps before expiring. Both were double-lung shots with...
I was doing load development for an upcoming hunt and went to the local public range. I was down-range at the 100yard-line and setting up a target when a gunshot rang-out from the firing line. The bullet impacted the dirt berm directly behind me and missed me only by a couple of feet. Turns out...
With any bullet you need to understand it's benefits and limitations. IMO, the ELDx is better served for longer distance shots that will allow it to expand properly without fragmenting drastically. At shorter ranges and higher velocities, you risk the bullet fragmenting too quickly and not...
I've had great luck with Leupold VX6HD, VX5HD, and Mark 5. Im partial to the mark 5 if budget isn't a factor. On the other hand, the VX5's have a great eye box and good glass for the money.
