My 6.5-284 has killed an antelope, multiple deer, a caribou, and multiple elk. I keep building rifles and then look at that one and wonder why I do it. 143 eldx in Lapua brass, retumbo...not running it crazy fast, ~2950 if I remember correctly.

Who is building yours? I am pretty hell bent on running the 162 ELDX in mine, I have seen that bullet out of a 280AI kill deer, antelope, caribou, and elk and its done great. I also have 10 or more animals with the 6.5 143g and the 200g 30 cal. Have just had really good experiences with the ELDX.

If you look back I already paid Dallas, the project is underway. He said April/May and I'd have it...gives me a few months of load development and barrel break in. I already ordered ADG brass and the 162 ELDX.

Just to update anyone following here...I now have both the accurate and Curtis short mag 3 rd magazines in. The Curtis is much nicer in fit an finish and about an ounce lighter than the accurate mag. The Curtis is also more expensive, but it’s a really nice mag and seems to feed my 300wsm a...

Thank you for the heads up! Man, so much I don't know about. I just ordered an accurate mag but will try and get one of those Curtis ones too, would like a few options around when I get the gun to see what feeds and I like the best.

Are the accurate mags still the way to go for mags? Am I missing anything else out there for the SAUM/WSM platform?
