I wasn't clear. What I need is a scope for ranges longer than 600 yds. Current scopes can cover out to 600yds. I've been reading about shooters comfortable at much longer ranges. I think that I need a scope with target nobs that don't slip and one that would have a ton of internal moa...

I have three such rifles:(1) .280 ai with pac-nor 24" stainless barrel,(2) .323 Hollis, which is .308 Norma Mag necked up to 8mm, 26" lilja barrel, and (3) .257 AI. All have timney triggers. All shoot under an inch. I am especially happy with the .323 Hollis which chrographs 200 Grn Nosler...

I have a thin taper lilja barrel with 1/10 twist. It's a light wieght rifle for back pack hunting, hence a 24" barrel. Absent light wieght considerations, I'd go for a longer barrel. I finally got a barnes bullet to group. The 115 grn. triple shock prints under an inch for me. no recoil. Ideal...

I own a rem. Model 700 with lilja barrel in 25-06; both .243 and 25-06 perform well on varmits; the 25-06 is much better for deer at the ranges you describe(in my opinion). heavier bullets can buck the wind and retain energy and speed. Recoil is not an issue with either. Check with .243 owners...

prior comments about ebay seller feedback are accurate. My advice is basic. Don't get" auction fever" and pay too much. I have picked up two(one Zeiss Conquest) on ebay. So far, so good.
