What rifles are you planning to use in the 23/24 deer seaon?

I’ll be using my pre-64 Model 70 Winchester Featherweight in .264 Win Mag. I’ve been using it for 49 years and it never fails me. One shot and done. Have used it for whitetails in Kentucky, West Virginia, Texas, and Oklahoma. Also used it for mule deer in Utah and Wyoming. Pronghorn in...

257 Weatherby or 264 Win Mag

I’ve been hunting with a 264 WM since 1974. It is my go to rifle for almost all my hunting. I’ve shot 3 Dall sheep with it (2 over 500 yards), Alaska moose, caribou, mule deer, a ton of whitetails, and pronghorns. All dropped with one shot. I only shoot the 140 grain bullets. It has a 9”...

So I’m not the only one... 264 Win Mag

I’ve been hunting with a .264 Winchester since 1973. It’s in an old pre-64 Model 70. Everything I have shot has dropped on the first shot and most did not require a follow up. I’ve taken 2 Dall sheep at over 500 yards, Alaska moose, caribou, mule deer, whitetails, pronghorns, etc. Wish it...

    264 win or 6.5 284

I have been shooting a 264 Win Mag since 1974. I only shoot 140 grain bullets. I’ve killed a bunch of whitetails, mule deer, pronghorn, caribou, Alaska moose, Dall sheep, etc. All have dropped in their tracks or within 10 yards, if they were running. Ranges varied from 10 yards (whitetail) to...

If you could pick only one cartridge for all NA game except the big bears...

I've been shooting a pre-64 Model 70 Featherweight in .264 Winchester magnum since 1974, with 140 grain bullets of various flavors. Have taken Dall sheep (2 over 500 yards), moose, caribou, pronghorn, mule deer, and whitetails -- all one shot drops. I've used 7mm Remington up to .375 H&H on...

    Antelope-good to eat?

Tastes like mule deer.....sort of. I have only shot one (in Colorado). The guide took proper care of it and delivered it to a butcher shop that was going to cut and wrap and send to me. There was a mix up at the butcher shop and they sent my meet to a rest home. The guide felt bad about the...

    264 Winchester Magnum OWNERS ?

Gunwerks is a Wyoming company that makes long range shooting systems and high end laser range finders, but they also make custom ammo with Berger bullets. They have a TV show called Long Range Persuit on satellite networks. I'm less familiar with HSM, but the HSM ammo is about $5 a box less...

    264 Winchester Magnum OWNERS ?

I saw that listed for the HMS and thought it was a typo. The Gunwerks load is posted at 3150 with same bullet.

    264 Winchester Magnum OWNERS ?

Does anyone have experience with either HSM Trophy Gold or Gunwerks premium ammo in .264 using the Berger 140 VLD? I have a 9" twist barrel. Only use the gun for hunting, but have been using it for 38 years (25 of those while I lived in Alaska). Still shoots sub MOA groups.
