    HS Precision

I haven't tried any of their rifles, but have tried their stocks. HS Precision is an awful company with the worst customer service!!!! I had some dealings with them that went a wry in the past, I posted about them. They gave me and a friend the exact same run around about delivery dates with...

    big guns means less accuracy

I have never had a problem making large guns shoot. That said, I am not a long range hunter, but enjoy this forum as well as accurate rifles. For me the below group is acceptable accuracy. The load is a 250 grain Nosler Partition at 2950 fps from a 340 wby magnum.

A note on Bullet Drop Compensators

I agree with your observations. The BDC is a good guide but I have not found them to be very refined, merely approximate.

    Nickname for your baby rifle

I have a custom shop weatherby called the "Wonderby" I shot this impala with Swift Aframes and didn't hit shoulder bone, only lung (yes the bonded bullets expand and form a very smooth front surface) so a prolonged gunfight followed. [ 01-23-2002: Message edited by: Bill ]

    Prone shooting technique

I would try to shoot off a backpack. I practice quite a bit with a pack that has a gortex rolled gortex jacket tied to the back.

    Sako actions

I may be wrong about this, but to my knowledge Sako is only has two actions the 75 and that found on the TRGS.

    Anyone tried GS Custom bullets?....

Those GS bullets take some time. I ordered a bunch from Gerard about 11 weeks ago and I am still waiting.

    Stock for Sako L579

If this has the removable recoil lug similar to the Sako L691 there should be quite a few avaiable. Stay away from the HS, wish I did.

    rifle stocks .....again

I have real problems with teh way HS treats its customers. A friend and I both ordered stocks seperately at the same time. We were quoted a delivery time (I forget what), that HS didn;t even come close to makeing. They were something like three or four fold over what they said. Everytime...

    Interesting Customer Service from Winchester

I think US Repeating Arms, the firearm manufacturer that carries the Winchester name should learn somthing form these guys. Their serive leaves a lot tp be desired.

    Leupold Scopesmith Magnetic Scopesighter

I have sighted in three or four of my own rifles with one of these units and have found it to be quite acceptable, I still prefer to boredight the old fashioned way though. I have also sighted in about fifty other rifles of all typed for people and they work very well, especially if you are...

    Titanium actions?

I have a Remington 700 Ti in 3006, hardly a heavy bbl gun but very accurate. This is one of the first groups I shot out of it. It was the first handload I tried. I can also tell you that Ross from Prairie Gun Works is an outstanding guy. [ 01-02-2002: Message edited by: Bill ]
