I like to use BR4's. When I messed with mine, seating depth made a whole lots of difference. I cannot stress that enough.

I had some trouble with the 25 grain vmaxes, even though i have a 1:9 twist.

Or do a 7x57 with modern loads.

I use a book max load of varget of 24.5g and 25 grain berger match HP's. My gun likes alot of jump to the lands.

Use the external ballistics calculator on Hornady's website. Plug in your data and it will give the info out to I think 1000 yards.

What made you try retumbo? I would have thought it was too slow. Have you tried Reloder 25? What has been your results with any other really slow powders in the 2506? I would be happy with those velocities out of mine with 85 grain bullets.

Is this just a 24" barrel? Your velocities seem to be unusually high given that your load of 60.5 is the max listed load by hodgdon for a 117 grain bullet and they are only getting about 3000fps. It looks interesting for me to try it with mine. I have a 26" barrel. I was thinking of...

I have one in 17 Remington. A max load of varget and 25 grain berger match consistently give me 1/2 moa or better. If you want to float the barrel though, you will need to stiffen the stock. I just left mine cause it shot so good.
