Idaho is gonna make a million bucks on this deal. 11.50 X 40,000 tags (I'm not sure of the # of tags being sold) ought to finance a bunch of wild life management. I hope it turns out that way.
Check your math. That's less than half a million, and "make" is pretty subjective.

What is your primary long range hunting cartridge? 338 Win Mag

Regarding your primary long range hunting cartridge choice above:
Do you use factory ammunition? only if I need brass...
If...
I use 57 grains of RL19 under a 100 grain NBT, deadly accurate and shoots out of an aftermarket Shilen at 257 Weatherby speeds, something like 3400 fps.
100 gr NBT over 57 gr of RL-22 goes about 3400 or so out of my m700. I whacked a nice 3x4 muley two weeks ago at 394 yds with no hold-over, so to answer your question, yes.
My load for my 25.06 is 56gr of RL-19, Federal Benchrest 215 primers and Winchester brass, Nosler 100gr BT. I get a consistent 3450fps and a nice three-shot cloverleaf. A better shoot could probably put them all in the same hole.
