Bad Chamber on a brand new rifle??

No. Muzzle looks fine. Two spots just past the chamber.

Bad Chamber on a brand new rifle??

I am not very experienced with my borescope and certainly am not a gunsmith. I believe both sides of the barrel exhibit this same condition. Leaving only 3 lands in tact to the front of the chamber. Is that caused by the same issue with the pilot?

Bad Chamber on a brand new rifle??

I have been tinkering with this $2k rifle for a friend trying to work up a decent load. Cannot get it to shoot better than 1.3” at 100yards. Put the bore scope in it tonight and I think I found the problem. Please tell me what you think. Half the lands run to the chamber and the other half seem...

Starting powder selection for load development

It is definitely caliber specific. My base supply is Varget, H4350, H4831SC, and H1000 that covers me from 5.56-big magnums. Certainly not optimal for everything but will do the job for most.

Are the Eld x bullets that bad

We have taken multiple animals with the 143ELDX from a 6.5 CM and a .260 rem. with no issues. I have taken 2 deer and 3 elk with the (.284) 175 ELDX ranges have been 100 yards to 475 yards and have been extremely happy with the performance.

    2023 Turkey Season Harvest

Never been a turkey hunter, but I got an invite and could not turn it down. My partner got this bird to come in to 55 yards and put on a good show for us. I believe he would have come a bit closer but a big gust blew over the decoy and he immediately quit showing off and was about to split. It...

    Newbie Reticle Question

If you decide to go BDC style, you can easily make yourself a cheat sheet with IStrelok (or I could do it for you) that shows the distances for which the reticle is exact for your load. The attached image is the data for my Black Powder Rifle.

    Newbie Reticle Question

Do yourself a favor and read up on First Focal vs Second Focal. In a nutshell… First Focal, the reticle will always have the same spacing between the markings of the reticle, so regardless of magnification setting, the reticle is accurate. The catch is, as you increase magnification, the lines...

    Blue Mountain 7 PRC

I just put a 3-15 Vortex Razor HD LHT on a light weight (6 pounds bare weight) hunting specific rifle. The scope itself weighs 20.5 oz. In addition to the light weight, It has some features I like. Locking elevation turret is very easy to use. The clicks on the elevation turret are crisp. Very...

    Daughter's first deer

Congratulations to you both. My daughter is not much for recreational shooting but is always happy to pull the trigger and put some meat on the table. As a parent of two youth hunters I love seeing these post!!!!!

    28 Nosler 195 load data

I think you are going to have to use RL33 to drive the 195 over 3000. In the 2 rifles I’ve helped develop loads for, that was the only powder that would push them that hard without showing pressure. We were using Nosler brass in both rifles. We tried RL33, N570, and H1000. We found out the hard...
