CFE 223 has been my most accurate powder with Berger 168 gr. RL15 has been my most accurate powder for 175 and 178 gr bullets thus far. Remington model 700.

Yeah a little heavy for whitetail then the velocity is lower. I did take a whitetail last year with the Berger Classic Hunter 168 gr with good results, ran 30 yards and collapsed. That one was loaded with CFE 223 at 46.1 gr with average velocity of 2630 @ 70 degrees out of a 20 inch barrel.
2519 fps with a variable of 11 fps over the 6 shots. It's my most accurate load for that powder/bullet combination. I shoot a Remington 5R Gen2 20 inch barrel.
I shoot it out of a Remington 5R Gen2 308. Handloaded of course but have also shot with factory ammo. Factory ammo group was under 3/4 inch, handloaded ammo at .5". I haven't shot a whitetail with it for expansion performance yet.
I have and shoot a Remington LTR 6.8 Rem SPC. Max whitetail range 250 yards. Easily handloadable or factory ammo. I have bedded it, trigger job, and had the bolt lugs worked. Very low recoil. Kids love it. They have shot 3 whitetails with it in the past 2 yrs. One shot, usually a 90 to 110 grain...
