I’m a 30 cal guy always have been. I started with a 30-06, then moved up to the 300 win, then the 300 wby, then a 300 rum and a 300 wsm, but my kids all shoot the others…I only personally hunt with the 300 rum, and I don’t really care if your a coyote or a moose your getting shot with the rum...

I have a couple groups with different calibers that in my opinion rock, and I wouldn’t hesitate to use these all the time but I haven’t been able to find more of them!

I too drew area 4 mountain goat; so as awesome as it is to have a goat tag, realistically it will probably be a miracle to see one in this area! Last year they only had a 27% harvest success in that area and after the all the culling they did, it will be far lower % this year! I’ve hunted elk...

When I was a kid my dad had ammo cans full of those. I agree they look like 30-06 military loads...we just used them as “pocket rockers” to scare elk and deer out of aspen pockets.

I've killed three bull elk now that have had serious infections from previously poor placed shots, two I packed out and tried to eat, but in the end we had to fill our additional cow tags for meat. The meat was inedible! The other was so rotten with gangrene that I actually could smell him...
