    7mm Blaser Mag experience?

Does the bolt face have to be opened up, it is bigger than the 300 Winchester at the base right?

    Howa 1500 338 Lapua?

You could also find a second hand CZ in 416 Rigby and put a new barrel on it. But once you start doing custom work it cost a lot of money. I have a American Rifle Company Nucleus with a Proof Research barrel, AICS bottom metal, CG-Xtreme trigger and a McMillan A-5 stock. Wasn't cheap, but it...

    Howa 1500 338 Lapua?

You can do that. The best thing about the Savage is that you can get an entire rifle, with a HS Preicision stock and a good barrel and muzzle brake for $1500.

    Howa 1500 338 Lapua?

Depends on what your goal is. I had forgot that you could get the steel barreled Christensen's Arms rifle for $1500ish. So there are quite a few options for the cost of a 338 Lapua custom action. Savage $850-1500 Weatherby $1500ish Christensen's $1500-2200 Ruger RPR $1500

    Howa 1500 338 Lapua?

Defiance would be very good, probably better than Stiller. Another option would be the Badger Ordnance 338 Lapua magnum action. Surgeon's, Bat's, and others will be more expensive. You could also use a Barnard, their single shot comes with a very good trigger. Would save quite a bit of $$$

    Howa 1500 338 Lapua?

The Stiller is made for a Lapua, the PTG/Remington route doesn't leave you with much steel to work with. For similar prices I'd pick the Stiller.

    Howa 1500 338 Lapua?

PTG is a dumpster fire. They have the ability to produce quality products, but anything you order you need to call and make sure they have it in stock. They will not allow you to cancel an order, and will charge you a restocking fee on something they don't have in stock if you cancel the order.

    Howa 1500 338 Lapua?

The cost of building a custom rifle on any action will always be greatly increased by going through the Remington or Howa route. A Savage will always be crippled by horrible trigger options. The Howa has a great trigger, one of the best triggers in any factory rifle in the world at the less...

    Howa 1500 338 Lapua?

This was more common 10-20 years ago, when there were not 20 actions for the 338 Lapua.

Do you ever go on outfitted hunts?

I have hunted roe deer, wildboar, and red stags in Europe, in Namibia and wildboar in Maine on outfitted hunts. Money should be the only thing stopping someone from hunting with an outfitter in a good area.

    Looking for a New Gun

I don't personally like two aspects of Brownings. I don't like the trigger, and I don't care for the stock designs. I really like two-stage triggers, so I would pick a rifle that could be built around that aspect of it. If you are working on a $3000 rifle. Here would be my build. Bighorn...

    Re-Barrel 25.06

I would do a Sendero contour Proof and crown at 26 inches. The 257 Weatherby is faster, but barrel life is a huge consideration. I ran my 25-06 first generation Remington Sendero hard, and it was awesome. Shot my first 1/4 inch 5 shot group with that rifle.

    Shooting while pregnant?

I wouldn't risk it. What is 3-5 months off if she is that far along? Maybe with a 22Lr, but that would be it. We lost a child that in month 7 of the pregnancy. I am a little over cautious, but the bub deserves every chance at life.

    Quality big/tall hunting clothing

I am a little guy at 5'11, and 270. Well at least compare to you Rugby players. Anyway take a look at the New Zealand company Swazi. They have a lot of really high end mountain clothing for the outdoors.
