Not tonight jack the thread but the only reason I don't carry a smaller caliber when I'm elk hunting is due to the fact there are 10ft brown bears around
7 mag, 338 mag and 300 WM still feels needed
I do have to agree, I love my 7-08 and have thought about selling it, but just can't bring myself to do it.

well in theory you could push a projectile faster with less powder in a shorter barrel which then would have less barrel burn out and still maintain better performance. I mean if you could shoot a 18" barrel and still get 3000 or even 3400 ft per, wouldn't that then increase your ability to...
without reloading available will this cartridge and the technology behind it die off into the sunset? or is the idea of this still valid and there will be future improvements that make this even better in other cartridges
yeah, that is what its looking like... thought I was past that. Well I know a few buddies that were able to find some deals in the 30K range, don't give up hope just yet
I have carried the spartan on my bino case and it has worked out well when I needed it. I still have backpack and tripod as other options. Heck we have needed treking poles, but always forget that is an option untill afterwards.
