    Spilled Powder

I tried to attach a link, but that didn't work, so here is a picture of an air-powered vacuum.

    Spilled Powder

There are small vacuums powered by compressed air ... using a venturi. If you have an air compressor, this could be an option. A plus is that the compressed air will have a moisture content higher than the room air unless the compressor has a dryer.

    Cracked Stock

Titebond 3 ... in all the tests, the wood fails before the joint. Gorilla glue expands, and the joint will expand as it cures, no matter how well you clamp it.

    Designing the perfect bullet box

Another concept for smaller quantities. O-ring seal, open center for easy access. Could be made double-ended or larger diameter for additional capacity.

    Help! Can't believe this happened

Any chance the bullet came apart as it left the muzzle causing minor damage to the the brake ... causing the large group? Then additional rounds compounded the damage until you had the catastrophic failure?

Rifle shooting is no longer like golf.

I carry a range card and circular slide rule in case of battery failure.

Where to buy real authentic Mitutoyo calipers

A piece of black electrical tape over the fourth digit is another option. I did that with a wide band O² meter that was difficult to interpret on the fly.

Where to buy real authentic Mitutoyo calipers

I like the fourth digit (0 or 5) displayed smaller than the rest.

I would recommend Starrett if "Made in the USA" is on your list of priorities.

    Infrared temperature gun?

I'm sure you believe that ... but with temperature paint, you can't know your brass temperature closer than +/- 25 degrees ... and that may be close enough. It certainly is faster. But you can't claim the temperature is the same as the last time. With a Lee lead pot and a little diligence...

    Infrared temperature gun?

I don't think anyone is claiming "flame" heating isn't a valid way to anneal brass. The argument is whether you can control the brass temperature, from day-to-day, as well as you can with a salt bath. First, there is no practical way to measure peak brass temperature with either method. The...

    Infrared temperature gun?

You forget that heat transfer from liquid to solid is more than 10 times faster than gas to solid.

If you want to prove it to yourself ... paint half black and see what you get.

Kid shooting with bi focal glasses help

After cataract surgery, his eyes are fixed focus. Iron sights will be a challenge. A scope will allow him to clearly see the target. Keep the bifocals so he has near and far vision, but for shooting, he may need a pair with the bifocal positioned differently.

ELR rimfire. Got out to 1004 yds again today.

The best the Sartorius can do is 0.015 grains ... that only gets you to 1% on a 22lr charge. 0.1 grains out of a 40 grain charge is 0.25%. What would happen to your ES and STD if you could only measure your centerfire charge within 0.4 grains?
