    BURRIS Eliminator 6 WOW!

Yep, this is the eliminator I've been waiting for... Just in time for my home state to ban scopes with any onboard electronics!

Why do you use Match bullets hunting?

Here are my requirements for a hunting bullet, if one of you could kindly recommend one that meets these criteria, I'll buy you a 🍺 1. Just shoot sub half MOA at all ranges 2. Must hold together at 3200 fps impact velocity. 3. Must reliably expand at 1600 fps impact velocity. 4. Must pass...

Why do you use Match bullets hunting?

When I started guiding full time nearly 20 years ago, I was definitely not a fan of these new "Berger" bullets that I was seeing guys hunt with on the hunting shows, and DVDs back then. Since then, I've seen Berger's used in nearly every caliber from 6mm to 338 to cleanly take Bull Elk from 25...

How is StaBall 6.5 working out?

I'm now using it when loading for my .300 H&H, with a 180 Sierra TGK. Just over 3100 fps. Haven't hunted with that load yet, too many rifles!

    264 WIN MAG

What altitude do you hunt at? The 140 Berger worked like magic out of my 9 twist 264, but at 7000+ asl.

Unbelievable Cost to Repair Fender Bender

Car insurance is going up between 20-50% nation wide. If your hasn't gone up yet, you'll see it sometime in the next year or so. Also, my previous carrier, that I'd been with for 10+ years, is also raising the minimum deductible to $1000. More fallout from the covid panic of 3-4 years ago.

Tipping standard for a hunting guide?

For that little amount of effort, I wouldn't expect more than maybe 5%.

    6.5 CM, 6.5 PRC Enough/Effective for Elk?

I'd be curious to know from the "bigger is the only way to go" crowd, how many elk they've killed, and if they've ever used any 6.5 on any animals.

    6.5 CM, 6.5 PRC Enough/Effective for Elk?

After guiding 100 ish successful hunts for Bull Elk, my opinion is that cartridge and bullet choice are the about least important part of the hunt. "Bullet failure" and "not enough gun" are actually just excuses for poor shooting at least 99% of the time. If you can shoot under pressure, I'm...

    6.5 CM, 6.5 PRC Enough/Effective for Elk?

Real life numbers are the same as numbers on a ballistic calc. No one can provide you with the exact number that your rifle and load will produce, only you can do that through your own trial and error process.

    6.5 CM, 6.5 PRC Enough/Effective for Elk?

The RPM will be ~400 fps faster than the Creedmoor, you can plug that into your ballistic calc and see the numbers.

Last Will and Testament - Who gets your stuff

Each of my 3 kids has expressed that they each want one particular piece of taxidermy, and I'll give them each one nice firearm (in addition to what they already have). I've got one grandkid so far, hopefully many more as the years go on. They will each also get a firearm of some kind. The...

    6.5 CM, 6.5 PRC Enough/Effective for Elk?

Here is a big Bull killed at 660 with a 6.5/140 Berger started at 3050, impact velocity was ~2300. The Creed will launch it around 2700, and retain ~2000 at that range.
