Xr-100 scope?

Just bought a remington xr-100 22-250

looking for opinions on scope choices

will be mainly shooting paper and dogs from 200 out to the occasional 500.

Looking at either the nikon monarch 6.5-20 50
499.00 from the samplelist

or a local shop has a leo vx-l 4.5-14 56
on sale for 679

any help would be greatly appreciated
as i am rather green in this area

Guess if it were my rifle...with the choices you listed...I'd go for the Nikon. If you're seriously going to shoot to 500 +...you'd appreciate that extra 6 power.

I've only reached out to 850 yards on PD's....a lot of guys here can claim 1K plus. Having said that...I used all 32 power of my NightForce BR scope to get that critter. He was laying on his belly..on top of his mound...so really small as far as height.

Good Luck....My 1/2 cent worth is to go for the higher power Nikon.
