Hopefully it's gone up, but the official count last week, was Montana 11 wolves, Idaho 60.
Montana closed the unit north of Yellowstone after just 3 wolves were taken.

Thanks, I knew my numbers were a bit dated, and hoped someone had this weeks totals. The anti's filed suit trying to get an emergency shut down before rifle season opened, and that was my last number.

I was hoping someone would post the actual link so we could flood them with anti-wolf e-mails.

I hope only Recovered Wolves are counted. Afterall a gutshot wolf due to improper bullet placement should not be counted...or one too far away to actually locate after the shot really may have been grazed and go on to a full and productive life...who can tell!

No apology needed, I'm just glad folks are finding ways to stay connected to this issue. I get afraid now that delisting has occurred, the mind set will become "well we won that one" time to hoist a few and celebrate. Weigh in anytime!

here's the note i sent them:

"As a longtime hunter and conservationist, i urge you to do the right thing for the truly endangered species here, the Rocky Mtn Elk. The canadian grey wolves that were transplanted in Yellowstone Park and then immediately left, are decimating our herds. The populations of elk in montana , wyoming and idaho are at 10% of their numbers since before the introduction of wolves and wolves are now attacking livestock, pets and even people. The usfws told us before the transplant that the target goal was for 2-300 animals in yellowstone park, but there are over 5000 now in the three states i mentioned. The only sensible policy to have for wolves is an open season, shoot on site policy anywhere outside the park. Please do the right thing before it is to late too save our game populations.
    sincerely,
    Allen Jones
