What's your elk rifle?

Also have a 50 Razor Back barrel for my Savage maybe I should use that 500gr bullet at 2200fps that might work.

I got mine running last year and killed a few hogs and deer with it. I would like to hear what you come up with as far as load data and on game performance.
I'm taking mine on the next elk hunt, maybe next year.

Stel,

I like the idea of a Sako extractor on the Remington. I hate Remington's cheapie extractor. I shaves breads off of the cartridge base too. What a lousy idea for an extractor.

The last few years it's been a 3006 Savage 111 that I put a shilen select match varmint barrel on. Boyds stock bedded and tweaked trigger. It shoots like a dream. Hoping my boy will tag his first with it this fall. Shooting some leftover 165 light magnums from Hornady. Picked up some GMX bullets and will start working loads for next year...
I'm working up a 110 flatback with a long range hunter barrel in 7 rem. Again bedded it into a hogue stock and tuned the trigger. I'll be shooting 160 partitions. looks good so far.

Some really nice rifles so far. Mine is a Sako TRGS in Lazzeroni Warbird. Shooting 175gr Barnes LRX. I hope to try it on an elk this year, works on deer alright..haha.

Got a Remington 700 Sendero in 300 RUM with a spiral fluted bolt, Timney trigger, custom brake, and a Huskemaw scope. Also have a 300 RUM in the process from Northwest action works. Shooting 230 Bergers out of Norma brass. It's pretty safe to say next year in Wyoming I'll be toting a 300RUM. gun)

These guys are pretty cool! I see them at my home range a lot working up loads for customers. They make some really nice shooting rifles. Great choice!
