Wanting to start a long distance rifle.

I want to start a build and I am limited on cash. What rifle would be best to build off of?

Tikka T3 300wsm

I have both rifles.

My optic budget is around 250 to 350 dollars.

any thing else necessary to make a long distance tack driver?

Which one shoots best? A 308 is always a good choice for a budget minded person. Practice is good, 308 usually comes out ahead in the cost department.
