VLD at close to medium range

My wife has taken many mule deer and cow elk between 250-350 yards with her 6.5 creed shooting the 140 hunting vld's. 10 to 15 yards is about all the animals walked before going down. Shot placement was behind the shoulder on all shots.

This last year we switched to the 143 eldx bullets with as good, maybe better results.

Here are a few blood trails from VLD/Hybrids.

This muley went about 25 yards in 2 seconds before piling up. 115 HVLD from a .25-06 AI @ 3400fps from 160ish yards.

Entrance and exit was not substantial.

Exit

Note the blood trail behind my daughter's cow last fall. Cow went probably 50 yards (?) after taking a 7mm RM 180 Hybrid @ 2996fps from 75 yards, broadside, behind the elbow.

This was the exit on the offside

This bull dropped in his tracks, DRT. No exit from a .300RUM pushing a 215 Hybrid @ 3100fps from 437 yards.

Bullet was just under the skin after passing through a shoulder blades both lungs, and shattering the spine.

Lance, great pics showing the results of three different Bergers. Nice looking variety of Az animals also.
